Hmm.. Suspicious.  Was there something wrong with the plug or something?  Can you exchange them for a new pair to be safe?

You know that's a good idea. I honestly don't see anything wrong from the outside, but I can't be sure. The cable feels pretty old... Would it be better to return them to Sennheiser or Electronics Expo? Which would be faster?

How old are they?  I would imagine electronic expo has a 30 day return policy.  If your in that window I would assume they would be faster than Sennheiser.

I think I'll just return them via Electronics Expo, they have a 14 day return policy. I had already filed for a return just in case, but it was for a refund. Hopefully they'll change it to a replacement upon request.
