Thankfully that doesn't appear to be an issue from the line out (WM Port) which I use with the Fiio, so - all is good :)

That what I heard from the Euro A walkman compared to the Japanese & US A walkman.  Thin & slightly harsh.  The X is fuller in comparison to the Euro walkman.

Yeah, just checked it.
But nothing beats the Sony sound enhancements and unfortunately you can't get them to work with anything other than Sony's own app or Google music. Still, will give it a try. And thanks for the info ;-)

Just had a spin with it. I must say, am quite impressed.
I do like the bass improvement settings as they are a level ahead of Sony's ClearBass. The other (like the Sound Field knob) don't do it for me as they make the sound pretty artificial. Still, I think this enhancement can provide better audio but the interface is a deal-breaker for me. The Sony app has such an intuitive interface. So simple - and elegant.

Many people might prefer it, but I'd stick with the native player.

- I used the "nooze" guitars there are strong distortion, it's annoying, can you advise me other equalizers?
- When will the new firmware? (it can fix the problem with sound!)Design by Aiwan (www.kolobok.wrg.ru)

Can you still return your Z and get money back?  I don't think it is the software issues as others don't experience your problems.  I think you may have hardware faulty related issues, causing the sound to distort which lead to underwhelming listening experience.  I would send the unit in for a repair or sell it as is.

Poweramp + Sony's Sound Enhancements = Pure Eargasm biggrin.gif
The treble end has improved quite a bit and the soundstage too. This combo even makes cheapos sound like a premium pair of cans.
Again, thanks a bunch Duncan ;-)

Divine, you NEED to grab an uncapped version of either of the siblings. I'm telling you, it'll be totally worth the extra buck ;-)

I'm assuming you are talking about the SonicMax Pro. smily_headphones1.gif While I do agree that the soundstage can sound rather artificial at times, what I've found is that is you find a certain sweet spot for it and the highs knobs and just play around with the bass and "sweet spot" knobs, the results can be quite pleasing. I've been using it for over a year now and they do pretty well.

Sidenote: Does anyone know where I can get a silver LOD with the WMPort? Been using Fiio L5 and it's time to up the ante.

Mind sharing your settings?

Mine are heavily tweaked towards my preference and I have noticed you have to experiment a bit to get the best results.(I have 3 profiles, 1 for each phone). An example would be my Tf10s, Low freq warmth 4.7, I keep the soundstage at 4.5 and the highs at 6~. Headphone sweetspot for them was 4.5, and I just swap bass around depending on genre (mostly around 5)

Again, this is for Tf10s, so I try to make up for it's recessed mids with the EQ.

Not really a fan of getting adaptors, but will consider that option. I have a pure silver custom LOD for my iPod, but the guy who made them doesn't have WMPort plugs. mad.gif

Well, OP definitely has one, so I'm assuming it's possible. smily_headphones1.gif

The US/Jap version sounds so much better than the Euro one. Just had a chance to compare the two.

Really? Never tried a Euro version. How are they better, overall in SQ? Or just more power?
