The 'other things' I mentioned was quoting SebaE2012 because his walkman was not updating.

It does nothing to delete the apps!

Hi guys,

Would like to know if anyone tried this app before for EQ settings? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2039716 (Noozxoide EIZO-rewire™ PRO)

It seems good and can further improve the already good sounding player, but for some reasons I'm not getting any changes =( Maybe Sony locked their own effects down?

I tried to use that app and that probably the worth piece of software I ever came across. Gave up after spending half an hour trying to use it and to make sense of the various options. Anyway, the developer's description smells like total pseudo-science audiofool nonsense.

It's only meant for the Note II, maybe that's the reason (although it shouldn't be).

yea I saw you were advising a couple people there, I was meaning your suggestions about the "RAM memory". I fooled with it last night and cleared off some of the icons on my home screen using the force stop. But when I "delete data" on "Maps" taking it to zero MB, and force stop, when you turn it on again later the maps data mysteriously reappears- Same goes for "Contacts storage", "Google+" and "Calendar storage"...they have  the remove data option, but the data comes right back next time you turn it on. And it wont let you delete certain things like "Google Movie". That's about 400 MB  down the tubes right there.

is there anyone having problem with sony z bluetooth? I can't send file from my computer to Z, but its okay to send from another device (phone, tablet). and there is no problem with my computer bluetooth, im using windows 7. can anyone help me?

Im losing interest in mine and wondering if i should send it in for service.  The battery on it last night dropped from 98% to 50% with no usage.  Had it in standby for half a day but no way it should drain that much juice.

I get maybe 7 hours battery life if i play music from 100% and this is with the screen brightness at like 15%, wifi and everything off.  I even turned off live wallpapers cause i think it might drain the battery.

And im trying to find wallpapers for this and theres nothing?  Really?

Some of the apps are, I dont know the exact word... but 'stuck' into the android operating system. You can basically remove all the apps you downloaded but not the apps that came into the player.

At this point I recommend you NOT to clear any more apps, because you may accidently start deleting or wiping some 'needed data' that may make the OS unstable.

Just load in the tracks you prefer and after a couple of months when you're tired of listening to it, put in a set fresh and keep the ones you like.

That is a big drop in battery life with no use.

Did you install the newest firmware?

Try charging it again and see if it happens. If it does call in Sony and tell them about it.

After the update (Z1070), I get around 28 hours of battery life.

On another note,

I had this problem with the Cowon Z2 lately, and after a full charge it didn't happen again.

when did you buy your Z?

Thanks a lot, John. Yes, I did follow Sony's instructions step-by-step, but I haven't done the factory reset first (I was hoping that I could do the update and still keep the data in!). I'll try doing the factory reset first, then. Cheers, Seba

Thanks a lot, AUDIOBREEDER, for the helpful tips. It seems that I should give a shot to the factory reset tip. It's the only thing I haven't tried, and both you and Jpfe8851 suggested as much. I hope I can update now. Cheers!

Well I left mine charging all night, still charging now, and I'll see later but I too noticed a battery life less than I expected compared to my other walkmans. It came uncharged, so maybe the battery was never completely juiced. I hope that fixes it.

As far as storage the manual does have a section on "Formatting your Walkman" which I was initially reluctant to try, I did that and it left me with what I'm guessing is the maximum amount of storage without hacking...a little under 27G.

Cant swap for another cause the store discontinued it.

Also anyone know where to get cheap screen protector and case for this?  I only found 1 online and not willing to pay $13 for a protector and $20 for a rubber case.  I might even do without the case if people have found that the housing on this doesnt mark up easy.

Anyone here NOT using either?
