Lol, I am aware that many ppl here are carrying much bigger bricks than the Z (phone/USB DAC or phone / USB DAC / amp combo).

Sorry if that sentence offended anyone tongue.gif.

The ICS update does feel better, I whinged at sony support for ages after the F series was launched with ICS as standard, so am relieved that they finally released ICS for Z.

Couple of comments though, the weird white icons that launch the sony apps don't look that great, and some of the interface preferences that allow the special effects to be modified don't seem to be there anymore.

And I have mixed feelings about the 'walkman classics' app, it's sort of an nostalgic, interesting but somewhat pointless application...

If it did offend anyone, they should reconsider spending time on the internet.

I just thought that it was pretty funny.

Isn't that really what nostalgia is?

I'm a beginner at Japanese, but I'll take a crack at it.

ダウンロードしたファイルが不止です       The file download is not stopping or did not stop/finish.

アップデートをキャンセルします   The update is cancelled.

X-App expects Japanese operating system.  Maybe that is hanging it up. You could try again.

The warning box title is "software update".

Good luck!

I reckon the reason that (if) the Z did not sell in large quantities, it is down to their distribution accross the globe, I didn't see one Z for sale in any Sony stores in the UK, checked Totenham Court Road store (amongst others), no Z'ds (or Zees' depending on where you live).

I asked the staff in store where they are, they said something like "yeah, might get some, don't know when, they are rare in this country, being a flagship product and all".

I eventually bought mine in Sony Plaza in Maddison Avenue NYC straight off the shelf, was so refreshing to be able to do that.

At the same time, ipods are on sale everywhere, all the usual distributors have them. As usual in the UK, it is the internet that saves the day when it comes to buying anything slightly away from MOR.

These are easily some of the most gorgeous skins I've ever seen.

I'd love to get this one, but it'd end up costing me upwards of $400 after all is said and done.

...

I'd be forced to buy a set of Heir Audio 4.Ai's to go with it.

You can upload custom artwork too, I'm thinking something like this on the back in "high gloss" would make a statement on the Z.

The Z series was fortunately rather popular over here in Asia, but the F was even more popular thanks to its form factor.

People on ebay are selling Japanese ones, but they want CRAZY money for them, There was a guy selling a Japanese one from Spain (had excellent feedback too!) for $380, a 64gb in black, which was a FAIR price, but the auction ended before I was ready to buy....
