HM-801 constantly crashing on boot screen.

I Purchased a hm-801 a few months ago off Head Direct and until today only encountered minor freezes or glitches with it's firmware of which I'm sure they're aware of. Today after successfully transferring around 1GB of FLAC files to my 801's on board flash memory, it froze on the "Data transfer" screen. After rebooting via reset button it proceeded to freeze on the "Hifiman" boot screen. Upon every attempt, results were the same. 
 
So far I have tried:
Removing battery, then restarting once battery back in
hitting restart button
booting up with charger only and no battery
removing low gain amp module
replacing with standard amp module
 
Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated!

just to clarify, when I say reset button I mean using a needle on that tiny button underneath the 801.
