Hello there ladies and gentlemen of head-fi, I am new to this forum.
I'm looking at getting full sized headphones to use while studying both at my dorm and the library, so sound leakage in a library setting is a concern. Also, my roommate can get pretty loud, so noise cancellation is also pretty important. I listen to mostly classic rock, but I also listen to classical music and jazz. I've only ever heard the sony mdr-xb700's (which I really disliked) and bose AE2's (which I really liked).
I'm looking to spend less than $150 on headphones + amp (if needed for ipod use) and while I've heard great things about the Grado's, I'm concerned about their sound leakage in a library, noise cancellation of my roommate and how well they would perform with classical music and jazz. I've looked at the Grado sr80i-sr60i, the Audio-Technica ath-m50, Sennheiser HD555-HD280 Pro, Koss Pro DJ 100 and am open to other recommendations.
What do the resident audiophiles suggest?
