Shure 440 have i made the right choice for my iphone?

Have orderd the shure 440 but i'm worried i have made the wrong choice because i have heard they sound made on iphones?

Also what is the sound quality like compared to dre beats solo or studio

It will work fine when used with an iPhone, it is fairly easy to drive. The quality is pretty good for the price, unless you prefer a lot of bass that extends very low. If you are looking for clear mids and highs mainly, it should compare well against the other headphones you mentioned.

ok thanks i'm not really too big on base i like everything to be balanced and clear. Do you think i was better off with these than the dre beats solo hds?

I cannot make a comparison from my own experience, but from the information I found, you made a good choice, and the only area in sound quality where the Beats Solo would have the advantage is bass quantity and extension. The SRH-440 is generally regarded as having a very good quality to price ratio, and complaints about it are mainly in the area of comfort. Some people do not like the stock ear pads, and replace them with those of the SRH-840 (product code HPAEC840, available for ~$20).

Based on your first statement. Yes. The Shure will give you a much better, balanced sound than the Beats.
