Sennheiser hd 598 doubt

Thread Starter

Hi, i would like to buy a headphone for chrismas, i already have sennheiser hd25 and westone um3x, which i love, but now i am looking for a open headphone with more soundstage, i like pronounced vocals and punchy bass, but not boomy, the last week i tryed a pair of sennheiser hd598 and they sound really good, but this was in a shop, and i think they were conected to an amp, please recommend me something with soundstage ,my budget is 200$ and i love trance music, i dont need isolation, only sound quality.

another question, i have a soundmagic a10 amp which adds bass, is this amp enought to power a hd 598 or i should buy another one?

Thnaks and regards.

I think you'll be satisfied with the HD 598s.  They're easy to drive, whether you involve the amp or not.

HD 598 is excellent for trance IMO. The bass is just right(not boomy nor non-existent) and the forward mids are just soooooo good for vocal trance.

The 598 doesn't really need an amp IMO; they sound pretty damn good without one, but of course it will sound a tad better if you have one.
