Is xeport 7010 worth of $40?

was going to buy a 7010 white for my girl as a Christmas gift, but found out that they increase their price to $39.95 on Amazon, then go to their website, the price is still the same as before, then bought one right away in case, they increase it as well.

But is this earbuds worth of $40? I'm not sure, any comments?

Definately. They sound like 80-90 dollar IEMs.

The sound is good, that I can tell from all related thread, but most of the 80-90 IEMs have brand value in the price as well which might have significant percentage, this one is new as far as I know, no branding value at all.

Why do you care about brand? As long as it sounds good, that's all that matters.

I don't care about the brand, but I do care about the money, all products pricing strategy has the brand value in it, and should be big part of the price, I assume. So my point here is: xeport should cost less comparing with same audio quality folks. But like you said, it's same as 80 or 90's then even $40 still should be a reasonable price. plus I just looked at their website, still $20 which is great. Not sure how long it's going to last though.

Xeport does cost less comparing with same audio quality.

A lot less...at $40, even at $60 and $70.

I suggest you snatch it up at $20.

I just got mine in 10 minutes ago. I also had been listening to the meelectronics CC51 that I got at the 24.99 special. I got the Xeport 7010 for 22.53 shipped! I've only listened to a few tracks so far but they are excellent for the price.

I'd say they are worth $40+ and at $20 they are a great deal. I haven't had the chance to compare them to the CC51 yet.

Overall sound has good bass weight, smooth mids and treble. No hint of sibilance.

Hope that helps.

Very interested to hear your comparison between Meelec CC51 and Xeport 7010. BTW, where did you get your CC51 for $24.99? I searched and failed to find them.

I picked up the CC51 at overstock.com during black friday weekend for 24.99. They sold out pretty quick. Im going to give these a few days of playtime before I make a comparison, but i will post something in this thread. I can tell you they are similar but do have tonal differences. I have a feeling they are OEM and just tuned differently.

I think people have confirmed that Xeport 7010 sounds different from CC51 despite being made by the same OEM.

CC51 is supposed to be superior

I can attest to that on both counts.

The XePort is midbass dominated with slightly recessed mids and laid back treble whereas the CC51 is clearer with less bass and more mids and highs end focus (bordering on sibilance at times). Overall, the CC51 is better.

how much better? I just saw cc51 on amazon is $34.95 which is cheaper than xeport 7010, fortunately from xeport.com, they are still $20.

anyway, I already placed an order yesterday, let's see how it goes. If it's really good and like you guys said, cc51 is much better than 7010, might consider to get one later.

After a few more days of use. I would agree with most comments about the Xeport 7010. It is a little thick in the upper bass region and has soft treble compared to the CC51. Going from A/B...  I'm not really sure which sound I prefer. The 7010 has more coloration to the vocals while the CC51 is a cleaner sound (also very bright). I don't think you can go wrong with either.

I got email from XePort saying they are going to increase prices on certain products, not sure which one and how much this time.

Anyway, I got them all with the current price, so go ahead xeport smily_headphones1.gif
