I think the denon ah-p372 are good portable on ears and their $37. Sure their not top top sound but their not crap either and they do a lot right. It doesn't seem like any of these undersized "high-end" portable on ear can's can completely get away with the problems that come with their really small body.

They didn't seem to satisfy the bcasey, he bought the SRH-940 shortly afterwards and that's his favorite now.

He listens at really loud volumes to fast metal music so I trust his opinion. <3

-_- the Shures are circumaural, not on ear. Different market (well, I'd think so, since on ears require some sacrifices because of the small enclosure. I'm guessing not too many would WANT to deal with closed on ears as their main headphone). And if I'm not mistaken, the ZX700's aren't exactly small either. The only nice on ears are the HD25, the Tesla twins, the TMA-1, and the V80's, which is a shame, since I like on ears. I was hoping the References would be an upgrade from my Image Ones, but I'm taking a guess that they're more similar than different, if different at all. Thanks for taking one for the team!

Wait just a second there. I never said i disliked the sennheiser hd 25 1 ii or that i wasn't satisfied. I just don't like the comfort. I bought the shure srh940 because i just had to try them.
