How to remove MS-1 transducer?

Hey all,

 

I got handed down some Alessandro MS-1's i plugged them into a Xenyx 802 and was amazed at the sound. Only issue is i think there is hair in the left earcup causing distortion and rattle. I have successfully pried off the outer earcup and i'm currently staring at the transducer. It's really stubborn and i can't seem to get it to budge. I need to get the transducer out in order to clear away the hair lodged in the front housing. I have tried the instructions here http://gilmore2.chem.northwestern.edu/projects/showfile.php?file=grado_prj.htm but to no avail.

 

Any tips would be much appreciated.

I read in another thread that the guy boiled some water, put it on in a pan, and set his grados there for a little and then the things came out smoothly (but I don't remember what the exact name of the thread is, I wouldn't advise doing this until you find it).

 

I actually may have no idea what I'm talking about and may be recalling the wrong thread.
