Soldering speaker wire tips

Mediabridge speaker wire 16 gauge from Amazon

I wanted to replace my old speaker wire which was really thin, should I use 63/37 rosin core solder for the tips of this new wire? I wont be using banana plugs since my receiver only has the little clamps you put wire in.

63/37's fine. And grab a jar of paste flux from Radio Shack. Don't rely just on the flux in the solder. That's only there to keep some flux going after you start soldering. Apply a little paste flux to the wires before you solder them.
