Samson SR850 good?

Hey guys, I'm new here, heard about this site from some of the audiophiles at overclock.net. I'm looking into getting my first real pair of headphones and I'm looking to spend around $100-$150 for the phones + any neccessary audio gear. I will be using them primarily for gaming, but also for the occasional dubstep/hip-hop sot bass is a neccessity. As for gaming I will be using them for games like Skyrim and Battlefield 3 (non-competitive), so I want something that will immerse me in the game, staging would be a plus but not completley neccesary since I won't be doing any competitive gaming. After doing some research at several sites including here, it seems like my best choices for phones are the Samson SR850. They have good bass, they're inexpensive and it sounds like they have decent staging. I was originally looking at the AD700, but their lack of bass is a major turn off and although looks aren't that important to me, they're pretty hideous imo. So are these the right phones for me and if not, what would you guys suggest? Also, what would you guys suggest as far as sound cards or amps?

Got a sound card (PC) or Astro Mixamp (console) yet? The low price of the SR850 would allow you to get one of those if you don't already have one.
