Need help choosing some headphones for $50-$100, basically used for everything.

Hello, totally new to Headphones or anything like that. I read up that they are better than Headsets. So, planning on buying some nice Headphones and microphone. Hoping for to get some for around $50-$100.

Planning on using these Headphones for Gaming, primarily, however I will be listening to music while reading some books. Plus watching movies, videos, etc.

Now I am not totally sure what closed/open means.

Some things I really need in the Headphones:

- Be comfortable, I plan on wearing them for hours. So I do not want them to squish my head. XD

- Hopefully will not hurt my ears or sweat. XD

Some Headphones I am considering:

- JVC HARX700

- JVC HARX900

- Panasonic HTF600

- Panasonic HTF890

- Audio Technica AD700

- Audio Technica A700

- Sennheiser HD280

- Sennheiser HD428

- Sennheiser HD448

I plan on buying them from Amazon.com or Newegg.com

I would prefer buying them brand new, instead of used.

Anyone have some suggestions for microphones to go with the Headphones?

Any suggestions on Speakers for around $50-$75?

Sound card for around $50-$75?

Thanks everyone.

If your listen to  DnB  or music with alot of bass then the AD700 wouldn't be for you as their very bass lite. While the A700 does have bass. Also they both will fall off your head when you look down. Unless you do the rubber band mod on them which makes them tight on your head Or wear a hat.I used the AD700 for every thing and they did very good, the only thing they don't do well in is bass.

Thanks, what do you suggest though? I can go a little over $100, I prefer not to but still will consider!

I'd go with the Jvc RX700's. Just add a mic and they are pretty good.

Honestly, I'd go for Panasonic HTF600, great value Creative Aurvana Live is another good choice for your preferences

Soundcard I'd go Asus Xonar DG for ~$20-30

Mic, just get a Zalman Clip-on for $10

HD280. Fantastic and solid all-rounder. I still love mine to pieces.

It's an excellent headphone, rebranded from the Denon D1001 headphone. I give it a thumbs up.

Unless you want gobs of bass I'd go with the Audio Technica AD700. For speakers M-Audio AV30 and save some money with this bit-peftect soundcard.

What are your favorite types of music? The AD700 is a suggestion I don't tend to toss out that often without making entirely sure that the person won't miss the bass.

Everything really which is why I like a well rounded phone. I suppose predominantly electronica the majority of time, folk, good vocals and acoustic coming a close second.

AD700 really nice for music, game and movie too. You should add Sony V6 to your list, it's another best choice.

SQ210A+ for the soundcard, they can change the opamp. You can found it on ebay

Harmon Kardon SoundStick II for the speaker

As for Music. I use Techno, Stuff like David Guetta, Labrinth, Gym Class Heroes, etc. Basically just an all around, some times I listen to an online radio. Also does anyone know about these?

Shure SRH440

I also really need comfortable headphones. Plan on using these for long hours, plus would like to have them for a long time.

I prefer to have my ears comfortable and non-sweaty! =P Plus, not to tight on the head itself, like my temples.

The D1001/CAL! is the most comfortable headphone I've ever worn. The lightest too and there's hardly any clamp at all. I also find them to be very versatile with genre. They're worth checking out.
