o my, ad300? for real? downgrading instead of upgrading lol.

 

So does the  hd-598 sounds like ad900 with bass? or totally different?

 

btw, DVDrey, how's ath-w1000x compared to ad900?

Different but not totally,lol. HD598 are more soudstage, slightly more treble, bass, midrange are very good on both.

 

W1000x is in other league. I find W1000x much better than HD598 and AD900 but its not perfect. Its a "romantic" headphone, fantastic midrange, very warm, excellent bass, huge soundstage, but more treble = sometimes some sibilance. Its not the same price 3/1.

i think i'm going with the hd650, know any good amp for it? would the matrix m-stage (newest version) work? or should i go with the asgard? or any other recommendation?

Good choice, but i don't known US amp, just Euro amp, like V200/Auditor/phonitor/H1mpa...

 

how much you count put in it?

I would go with a tube amp over the M-stage, but I guess it comes down to personal preference.
