New? D: I can't imagine they're selling them for such a low price when they are brand new. I think they're fakes honestly.

I'm using the red star tips with my BA200's. Sounds much better than the double flange or comply foam tips.

Great comfort, too. The isolation is only a little worse than comply foam tips.

TDK BA 200 + Westone star tips = best combo I've heard so far.

Those star tips will kill bandwidth a bit too long, try black or green star tips.

1) I see a bump increase in the price!

2) Could someone please tell me if there is a new version of this model?

Here is the old one

http://www.amazon.de/TDK-Balanced-Armature-InEar-Kopfh%C3%B6rer-Hochleistungstreiber/dp/B006TC9842/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1366158582&sr=8-1&keywords=TDK+BA+200

and from that link (which is in german) says that this is a newer model

I can surely see a difference on the outside of the earpiece looking at the image listings. Does somebody know something?

I will also send an email to imation europe to ask about it.

I think there is no difference now that i looked to more pictures. I don't know why amazon is listing them as a new model

It looks like the $172 ones are not being sold by Amazon but a market retailer. That's why the discrepancy in price. The amazon stock was slowly dwindling over the last few weeks.

Yes but there is also a change in the retail price, MSRP before was 250 now its 300

Update with official report from Imation representative.

There is no change in the versions, only the packaging has changed.

The pricing difference depends also on the resellers and retailers pricing strategy. If the demand in another country is high it is logical that they place a higher price on their website. It depends also on the competitors in each country, however, as you want just to buy a model for yourself, I would go for the cheaper ones (there is no change in quality).

Thanks and kind regards,

Roman

To me, the red star tips sound more detailed than the black ones. Furthermore they're more comfortable to my ears and isolate better. I can insert them much deeper.

The star tips have a more narrow inner opening than the TDK tips. Not sure if this could harm the sound quality...

These arrived today, just spent 40mins listening to them and comparing them with the SE215LTD and CKS77. I can confirm that they are genuine from the sound quality, they are several notches above the Shures and AT. I'm really impressed by these IEMs.

FarCry, these were on auction from a private seller not from a business seller.
