I just received my BA200s today and they sound amazing!!!
When opening up the box I noticed I received 3 comply tips (I believe 1 MED no filter and 2 LAR with filter) and 3 sm biflange tips. Anyone else receive this? So far my only complaints is that the cord seems flimsy and I question it's durability where it meet the jack. And that I don't have enough WAV files on my iPhone.

Yeah they come with 3 comply like you described.  The cord really is the only thing that you can complain about with the IEM but you'll get used to it over time.

Yea I'm deff loving these. I'm sure with proper handling the cord will be fine. I think I was suppose to get 2 sm biflange, 2 med complys, and 2 lar complys. But I got 3 sm biflange and 1 med comply with 2 lar biflange. I don't really see this as an issue though because the sm biflanges fit perfectly. Does the complys change the sound as oppose to the biflanges?

After looking into the TDK LoR it looks like the might be just a different name for what was going to be called the BA700.  The LoR is the same price at around US $71 so they are the lower end BA and ClieOS when I asked him how the BA700 sounded he said its not as good as the BA100 which I didn't think was anything special when I heard a pair of those.  These still might be a different pair and the price makes me think they're a lower end armature.

 

 

Actually if you look closer and compare the two, the MA600 is built differently (it's open in the back - so it appears - with little fan blades-like partitions in the back). And the MA600 cost a little bit more than the BA700 (on Amazon.jpn). That's neither here or there for me though. The point is that the MA600 is suppose to be a newer technology, and from all accounts I've been able to read about it, it is suppose to sound way better than its price point (and better than the MA700). LOR is a generic name for a group of TDK products. If paying attention to what's available nowadays, price is not indicative today in the quality of the sound one may get out of a universal. There are a few  universals priced at $100 or less that competing with $200-$250 IEMs in sound quality. 

The JVC FXZ200 (if you shop well) can be found for about $220. This three-dynamic driver easily competes with $400 and $500 IEMs I've heard in sound quality (actually surpasses quite a few). But I'll know first-hand - hopefully by the middle of next week - what MA600 offers, if anything different. I know Carrowong selected as the second best product he heard (JVC FXZ200 being first) at a recent audio products show in Japan.

glac1er, for fatigue treble i'll call that excessive treble. Though I've never said SM3 sounded fatigue, I was just trying to use additional word to differentiate both BA200 and SM3. Maybe the word use was not appropriate. I'm sorry if I've confused you. wink.gif

TDK BA200 just remind so much the similarity with Rogers LS3/5a speaker legendary happening. Originally the Rogers was built for monitoring human voice with limited extension on both ends. it was never intended for Audiophile grade. But in the past few decades, it turned out to be a must have pair even one already own a few hundreds thousand dollar audiophile grade audio system. Coupled it with proper source and tube amp, the Rogers human voice and strings work sounded so good that it beat plenty of multi thousands dollar speaker. In the past whenever I'm tired of expensive audiophile sound, or if I'm intended to listening to voice and strings work, I've just use the system with Rogers LS3/5a till I almost skip my lunch and dinner as I couldn't stop listening to it.

Techno Kid, ok I understand what you trying to say. I am silly to be forgotten that different people prefer or hear differently. Obviously we are different so TDK BA200 just behave different according to our hearing, and there's no one right or no one wrong situation here. I sincerely hope we enjoying our preferred music as much as possible with our beloved IEM. wink.gif

Well here's another IEM that I'm going to have to try, but at least the price isn't bad as long as they don't sale them for more once or if they start selling in the US, the conversion from the price on Amazon Japan was around $70 which if they sound as good as they portray them to be is a very good price.

cloth cord plus the side shot of those MA600's harken back to Ortofon EQ-7 images. I know the internals are different, but hmmm. Wonder if the "sport" earpiece keeps these in place, but we're getting off subject

mmm...OK so I am just extremely close to pulling the trigger on FXZ200, and I am interested to either buy this one, or Maxell DD600 together with my FXZ200.

 

I am not 100% set on the DD600 since the DBA700 has been somewhat a dissapointment to me - even after 30hr burn in I can't detect any improvement on that...AND TDK has a good history on the value and performance (IE800, BA100, BA200, MT-300) so yes...I am super keen to be a guinea pig again for the MA600 etysmile.gif

 

Just waiting on someone (putente...hello?) to create a thread for the MA600

That would be correct. That weird looking earpiece thing is also comes with the BA700 earphone. It may be different sizes of them too (I thought I read that), but it's designed to hold the earphone in place and it's suppose to be comfortable.

Happy to report my BA200 sounds amazing!!! I have it paired with the 07K and my EVO has life again! The clarity, mids, treble and bass in these headphones is subperb; so far they have handled every genre (GNR, Journey, 112, Dru Hill, Misc. Country, etc...). I feel they are nicely balanced. The bass is not too over powering and comes alive when need be. I'm just amazed! I use the SM biflange tips and the BA200s just disappear or at least they feel like they do in my ear. Very comfortable.

Only issue now is, coming from SE115, CX485 and other misc cheap iems; these blow them away......so what blows these away???? Ahhh this is going to be expensive but fun lol.

kjk1281 so graciously interpreted some of the new earphones rankings from the Japanese Premium Headphone Guide Winter. From what I see on how they ranked the MA600, I'm even more excited to hear it. The rankings are spot on, I think, on the FXZ series from JVC.
