I agree, Comply tips do have a needlessly poor reputation here, but they do break down, especially when you take them outdoors a lot, and it is a pain to buy them every month, unless you get a large pack, which is pretty pricey.

A lot of times, silicone tips can be bass killers!

I tried using the Shure grey tips on it once, and while it didn't sound too terrible, I'm very much a proponent of having the ear tip be at least as large as the nozzle opening, to minimize acoustic resistance.

I don't know about you, but I don't get a good seal with the large biflanges, but get a decently good one with the small biflanges. However, the silicone is a bit rough, and cuts into my skin after a while. Hence, the discomfort.

The comply tips are great by all means, have to agree that it's easier to hear the crossover between the low and high drivers with silicone tips.

 

I switched between the silicone and complies, bass response definitely better on the complies while the treble is dampened by a little ( at least for my ears, they don't sparkle as much, like say 5%?)

 

The listening experience is definitely better with the complies, i just can't get a great fit with the dual flanges, they are horribly uncomfortable to me for some reason...

Yeah, I'd definitely spring for a BA300 if they ever consider doing one. They should actually do a BA400... match the W4 but undercut it in price --- that should make a splash here on Head-Fi!

I decided to permanently switch to Ts-100 tips... even though silicone tips are more convenient and sturdier, the Ts-100 do indeed have the best synergy with the BA200.

Listening to the BA200 makes me want to go and try out a Earsonics SM3/SM2... the BA200's presentation is sort of how I imagined Earsonics to be from everyone else's descriptions, except that I thought the Earsonics would have more warmth.

Hmm, well, I need to get a listen of the SM3 first... the BA200 has a pretty good 3D feel to it... I actually like it more than the W4 in my experiences with it.

Did you manage to get a listen of the BA200 yet, Inks? You really should... it's one of those IEMs that I keep liking more and more, and I wasn't even that into it at first.

I guess my estimation of the SM3 is a bit off then. It never really did appeal to me, so I never bothered with listening to it. However, the excellent 3D imaging of the BA200 got me thinking of it...
