I need to stop reading this thread.  My mint BA200s have been sitting in the box unsold (tougher now since Amazon dropped their price).  I'm tempted to just keep them and put them back into rotation with the GR07s

I ended up ordering all sizes of both the EarPortz and the new Westone Star Silicone tips, so I'm hoping a pair from one of those will be my perfect tips.

I'm also experimenting with the Etymotic P->S adapter (+75 Ohm impedance) that I have, and using that pretty much gives me 3 more sound signatures to choose from...

I am using the GR07 tips. The blue medium tip with foam lining. They are not necessarily the best in terms of SQ, but they give me the best seal. For me, the best for SQ tips with me are the stock BA200 Comply Tips. They do drown out a little bit of the treble, but to me, they sound the most natural. Try for a few days so you can adjust to the darker sound.

I have the GR07, the BA200 and the SM3. Not planning selling any at least for the next few months. I think they are a pretty good combination that compliments each other.

A few quick bried impressions: 

 

- IE800 has the wider soundstage and greater instrument separation

 

- BA200 has the most life-like vocals

 

-  which has the most bass depends on the song and tips used. There's really nice bass coming out of the BA200 is you use - as mentioned before - the deep inserted Earportz tips. The IE800, however, has great bass using the R1 double-flange black tips (which also gives me the best seal and isolation)

 

- i think treble is a bit more forward on the IE800

 

Which do I like better now? It's pretty much a tie, but if I to pick one over the other, the IE800 leads by just a little bit. That doesn't mean I think the IE800 is technically better than the BA200, it's more or less just a sound preference thing. And don't get me wrong, I really really like the BA200's sound signature too. Both are great products!

Not exactly, at least when I was about to buy them, there was only $20-30 difference.

I just bought another pair of ba200s for a family member for Xmas, because they loved mine. They were 134$ on amazon about a week ago. If you have seen the senns for around 150ish, please share I'll buy em right now!

There's a TDK model called IE800 as well, which is the one Eric is referring to. wink.gif

Both Sennheiser & TDK have an IEM named, "IE800."  All recent references/comparisons (i.e. by Ericp10) in this thread have been with the TDK IE800.
