I'm really enjoying both, for a similar but different sound. I can say that I don't enjoy the BA200 very much unless amped. I find I usually listen to new headphones when I first get them. After a few weeks of listening, I start settling into a favorite, so we'll see what that is. I really enjoy the blues and the IE800's make guitars sound awesome. I will definitely be open to trying TDK products in the future. I guess I always thought of TDK as a throwaway brand or a brand that made cassettes back in the day.

 
Since they're a large producer of electronics, it seems their product inventory goes through a more generic cycle of progressive discounts.  People are finding both pairs of these IEMs at electronics places in the states for obscenely cheap prices that seem to violate basic economics, or at least the model all other IEM companies seem to use.

I totally agree with your assessment of tdk in the market and especially the bass in IE800. I'm a little perplexed that a dual dynamic wouldn't have more bass, even when amped.

In fact, the BA200 has considerably more bass when amped, which really throws me off, but it's also one of the things that I really like about the BA200.

Hey members, unfortunately my ba200's recently died on me which means I while be sending them out for warranty replacements sometime in the future. I wanted to know what if anything could void the warranty, I ask this because I replaced the stock damper with aftermarket dampers and have ran out of mesh filters. It basically looks like I have been aggressively tinkering with the earphones, which I have. Would what I mentioned make TDK not honor the warranty? Would appreciate any thoughtful answers.

I'm in the same boat, but only my left side stopped working. Switched to my backups (My old SE530s) but man I miss my TDK's right now. I'm over a year in the warranty and waiting for their support to get back to me. Hope we can both get ours fixed. Don't know if you need to mention that though. 
 
Anyone have experience dealing with TDK and their repair/replacement department?

  I'm glad to see others that have experience with both the IE800 and the BA200.  I bought the BA200 a few months ago and have barely touched it because I tend to reach for the IE800 instead.  I think I have a fit issue, which is weird considering the housing appears to be so ergonomically made.  I think it might be due to nozel length (short). 
 
I believe those two IEMs represent the best value in portable audio.  I paid $130 for both IEMs.  Hard to imagine finding better value than that...

I like the Zero Audio Carbo Tenore ZH-DX200 and Philips Fidelio S2 more than the BA200.

Well looks like they're done unless I can find somewhere to get them fixed (or try myself) Annoyed as I really enjoyed them.

Really glad I managed to grab a BA200 a few months back, it was an IEM I had been wanting to try for some time.  When I first joined Head-Fi, I was researching IEMs and initially narrowed my search down to the GR07 and BA200 and decided on the Vsonic at the time.  I have now found the BA200 would've been the better choice for me all along.

 The GR07 is I'd say an equal but I never liked the treble presentation on them...plus I like the fuller, more lush sound of the BA200, especially in the mids.  I've found the Shure Olives to be the best foam tips and was primarily using them but recently tried an experiment.  I have a friend who went to college with the founder of Ear Peace, so he supplied me with a few pairs of their standard earplugs a while back, which are excellent for all the live shows I attend.  It's essentially a dual flange tip with a inner plastic filter that inserts in the back.  I took one pair and pulled the filter out (easily removable for cleaning) and cut the inner nozzle a bit shorter, then popped them on my BA200.  So far this is the best silicone tip I've tried on them and also most comfortable.  Foams still isolate better, but these do a decent job.  I suspect they are similar to the ER6i-18C which are quite hard to find these days, though I'm still looking for a pair to try out. I may have to just opt for the ER6i-18 or newer ER38-18 and cut them down to a dual flange...has anyone else done this yet?

With the way TDK seemed to slash the price on the IE800 and BA200, I started to assume that they might be getting out of the high end IEM business. 
 
I would be delighted if they came out with a new flagship.

They need to work on their wiring and perhaps some level of build quality, but still a lot of potential.

Fingers crossed for an updated version. I really liked them because they sound more full than the twfk drivers and have a nice small barrel (I have small ear holes)

Agree that build is poor and they are just too fragile.  One earpiece fell to pieces within a few days from new.  I applied a few drops of super glue  between both sides of the casing, so hopefully it won't give me any more problems.

Was referring to sound, but they are cheaper than BA200 so I would say both.  I would skip the Fidelio S2 and go straight for the Tenore.
