Switching between Speaker and Headphone amp

Thread Starter

I'm not really sure where to post this question.

Basically my setup looks like:

Computer (EMU 0404) -> DAC -> Integrated Stereo Speaker Amp -> Headphone (through Phone out)

I want to purchase a separate headphone amp but my DAC only has a single lineout. Is there a switch box you can recommend to allow me to switch between Speaker and Headphone amp? For example:

0404 -> DAC -> Speaker Amp or Headphone Amp

Any switchbox would do (unless youre one of those who believes you need one with $100 furutech connectors with siltech wire inside).

Heck, you could even use a simple y-split cable, and simply turn on/off whichever amp you aren't using!

If you're set on a switch, theyre super easy to build, and a great intro to soldering.  You could also request one of our DIY'ers to build one for you, they usually ask for very reasonable sums
