This is my first post, and the purpose of it, as the title suggests, is just to say thanks to all the people that have posted their opinions and advice on the website.
I decided to buy my first set of nice headphones as I'm on holiday in the states and it saves me a ton of money compared to what I would pay in the UK. I have spent hours and hours reading up on this site about all the different types of headphones in my price range, the differences between open & closed backs, the need (or non need) for extra amplification, and in particular peoples opinions of how particular headphones sound and what sorts of music they think they are best suited for.
The end result of all this research is that I purchased to set of AKG Q701s + a little PA2V2 amp to help give a boost to my sony walkman phone & laptop. As you can probably tell from the cheesiness of my post, I am absolutely loving the new gear, having not taken the phones off for the past 4 hours!!!! And the sounds really supposed to get even better after a few 100 hours? sweeeet!
So thanks to everyone who's posts I read for helping me make my first big purchase, it is greatly appreciated, and hopefully in the future I may be able to post something useful to others.
