From a dude with a Japanese forum name, and a business logo styled like a mon, I sincerely hope he's joking.

And, yeah, I was looking at the FR graphs for the K and Q, and you're spot on. I'd really like to check out a pair at some point, myself. DAT GREEN.

For an affordable all-Japanese optimized setup you need.

1. all-Japanese music

- Fixed

2. all-Japanese DAC/Amp

- Fostex HP-A3 (even all the small components inside and soldering and screws are Japanese)

3. all-Japanese headphone

- Sony CD900ST, SA-5000

- Fostex Kotori 201

- Audio Technica [insert all "made in Japan" models]

- STAX [insert any model I think?]

______

Any more candidates?

If you don't have every piece of gear in the ED to SKET Dance, you're doing it wrong.

Can we allow K701's? I mean.. Mio uses them. An exception should be made here.

Here's a nice All Nippon solution :-

JVC-Victor DX-1000

Luxman DA-200

Perhaps OP-san would like a tube alternative when in one of those moods too?

Yamamato HA-2

Someone told me the A2000X had wonderful synergy with the Yamamoto and then I looked at the price.

No K701's allowed, they are allied with the Japanese but not "all-Japanese"

Hmmm, may have to listen to the A2000X again, it's a funny AT that one like the W5000 redface.gif

Might just be a fussy headphone with amps, spent about 30mins with it last week on the DacMagic+ and it was

nothing special to my ears.

Try different sources, the A2000X is the pickiest, most synergy-rejecting headphone I've ever used.

Q701's are  Quincy version of the K701/702's. I've not used the original K versions so I do not know if they are much, if any, different. I've heard a few people say more bass impact and a little smoother on the treble. Whatever the case may be, they sound great even with only my FiiO e10 driving them. I hope to get something better eventually, but this will do for a few months. :)

Listening to some Perfume right now with them.

As for the whole weeaboo thing... Can't... tell... if... serious?.. D: What the heck?

Yes, I'm joking.

I know. I was drooling when I saw it.

???? I thought I said it didn't have to really be all Japanese. I meant for music. :P But Denon is Japanese.

I think they're fine. I'll just need to fix the headband and make sure the music I get it mastered.

Fostex make all of Denon's headphones.

I swear I just posted in a thread with someone with the exact same music tastes as you... derp.

Nice to know you at least visited that thread.

Hybrid of OCN.

disagree with the cd900st suggestions

though they're very popular in japan, they're mainly used in analytical studio settings (being fairly neutral)

whether it's jpop or whatever, i like hearing/feeling the low frequencies so i'd go for the dt770 80hm for listening to music

It looks like the AH-D2000's won in the other thread.

Edit: I read on OCN that you can get op amps for free as a student. Anybody know about this?
