Aye. Cross-examining them with the M50's through laberously switching the plugs and replaying songs revealed that, although the M50 are more tight sounding, the vocals (mids?) are pushed away quite a bit. Listening to "LOTR: The Fellowship" soundtrack really highlights that, as with the M50's the vocals are really surpressed, whilst the 595's bring out a wonderous "roomy echo" like they should do.
I do have the 50 Ohm version, so you may be right there. I'm still considering the E5 or E6, but I won't purchase them if Anathema is right. Perhaps I should look more in the way of DAC's? I'm a bit unsure what they are, or do, though. The other option is a sound card, which again, I'm unsure if it would do anything noticable with these cans.
