Recently got into contact with a new company called Rein Audio. They seem to be making a new DAC called the X-DAC that's going to list at $780. I'll have a review coming in the next few weeks. Stay tuned, for now, you can find out more info @www.reinaudio.com

Waiting for a review on this baby impatiently. In the market for a DAC and this is among the shortlist.

 

Wonder how it sounds...

So, CS4816 -> WM8740 -> AD797. Classic combo of quality components.

 

Now if they threw in volume control and headphone output and kept it at 800$, they'd have a real competitor.

Yes, they would. But I think they should keep it as a DAC, then develop a hybrid in the future.

Email reply from Jason at Rein sounded like only available in 220V.  Await clarification from him.
