D2000 with Denon AVR

I had to pry them out of Denon's customer service with several emails but, my Denon AVR-2809ci has these specs:

Output power:  up to 125 mW

Frequency response: 10 Hz~100 kHz,  +1, –3 dB (mode DIRECT)
Max voltage output: 1V at 16 ohms, 2V at 32 ohms
Output impedance: under 500 ohms
S/N Ratio: Better than 100db
Distortion .005%

Obviously it can drive the cans, but the output power seems to be a little on the low side.  How much improvement would I get by going to the Little Dot i+ and running it from the Denon's pre-outs?

Not much with D2000, these guys are really easy to drive.  You better off get a better source.

My source is great, running digital coax bitstream from my HTPC to my Denon, which has a 24-bit/192 kHz Burr-Brown DAC.  FLAC or high-bitrate .mp3 files.

If you really want a better amp, check out the Burson.  I used to have a D7000 with Burson HA160D and like the combo.

Well the idea here is that I want to try and trade a current pair of 'phones for the D2k and not have to buy anything extra if I don't have to. So an extra $700 isn't really going along with that plan.  Maybe this is a silly notion, but I can't see spending more on the amp than the headphones. Especially if the amp is twice the cost of the phones,

My Denon AH-D2000 sounds A LOT better out of my Schiit Asgard than out of my receiver, a Denon 2310ci, headphones output.

I have Denon AH-D200 and I am currently running them out of my pioneer vsx1020k receiver. I was considering getting the asgard. What kind of improvements did you see? Would your reccomend it? Did you plug your asgard into the output of your receiver or directly to your source? Thanks for any info, I want to make sure the asgard is the right amp before I buy.
