Hi, new to the forums here and got a few questions.
Right now I am using a sennheiser hd380 forĀ gaming, music, and movies. I originally bought them for recording guitar tracks, but it seems they have made their way to the computer as well. My first question is this, i do not see anywhere on sennheisers page that these phones are 7.1 surround sound, but when i plug them into the built in sound card on my mobo, the realtek hd audio manager lets me set them as mono, stereo, 5.1 surround, and 7.1 surround. I am assuming this is digitally configured emulation, but what makes the realtek 7.1 surround different from dolby 7.1? also, is the realtek hd 7.1 surround working on my 380?

Second question: I want to buy some headphones for my collegeĀ pcbuild, and will be needing them for gaming and movies. I plan on using my hd380 sennheiser for music. What headphones (around or under $200) offer great sound quality and good bass (for the movies, explosions ect...) and have good surround sound capabilities? I perfer closed backed, corded, with a good mic, and non usb. Thanks in advance for any reccomendations and informationĀ atsmile.gif
