Best amps for HFI 580 for ~$300?

Hello everyone, I just purchased a pair of HFI 580's.

So, to go along with it I thought I would start looking into getting a desktop amp for it.

Problem is, I have no clue what to look for, so I am asking for your help.

I listen to mainly Jungle, DnB, Hip-Hop, ambient, modern classical, folk, instrumental, and some alternative.

Without trying to sound too ignorant, I like the look of the amps that use the vacuum tubes, but I'm not sure if they are out of my price range for a good one or not. But if so, that's alright.

Thanks for any help in advance everyone.

Just go with the E11 and L9. the ZO2 is still kinda experimental and not much is known. the E11 and LOD is $75 total.

Well, looking for a portable amp for around 100, and a desktop amp for under 300.

Thanks for the suggestions though.

I wouldn't get a tube for electronic music. The MStage or Little Dot MKV might make good choices, they seem popular enough for the PRO900.

It won't only be for electronic music, as of lately I've been listening to less of it, although I will still be listening to it, just not primarily that.

Still burning them in, they're sounding better but I'm still not really impressed with them. Although they are getting comfier to wear.

Same. the highs/mids/lows seem to keep on chaning. they perform well, then mediocre, then bad, then well. and it's this whole continuous cycle. Curretnly wearing my 440's while the hfi's are burning in.

Wait until your done burning them in to get an amp. Ultrasones go through major changes during burn in, you wouldn't want to end up getting a bright sounding amp just as the treble is settling in like I almost did.

From what i have learned from my time on head-fi is that every can is different. Even if it's the same company and if it's the same series. Small/slight changes lead to .....different results. so comparing my HFI line to your pro line is a bit of a long shot. I have yet to hear the claim about ultrasones. however the fact that people say my hfi's need 600+ hours should comfirm it to an extent. i hope to hear much more about these ultrasones

There are usually some good choices in the for-sale section.  See what's there and do more research on the ones that interest you; you'll be getting them for well under MSRP in most cases.
