I was hoping you guys would share your cable management techniques for long headphone cables while you are using them portably. I have an 11 foot chord on my ath-m50. Right now I'm just using twist ties. I figured I could use a series of more stregically placed zip ties. I dont want to do any cable mods or cut the cable, or do anything that may void the warranty in any way just yet. Once they are good and old and I have another pair of headphones (lookin at HD650 but need to try them first) I'll probably just mod them so they have their own headphone jack and can use a male-male cable to function, but until then, what do you guys do to manage unwieldy cables?

A very all-round headphone for me. Just the right one to take on the go or on holiday. Also as a DJ, nice noice isolation. Very durable so you don't have to wonder if it will break if you throw...

I auditioned the SRH-1840 straight out of the box, and was unsatisfied with the sound, so I decided to give them a period of break-in. Recent scientific studies have shown definite differences...

I use a chain sinnet knot on my HTF600s. I shorted them to about 4 ft.

You can braid your headphone cord (search function, not too sure where it sprouted but I'm pretty sure it was some m50 topic).

I'm too concerned about cable damage to do the chain-sinet knot. I did that with my old craptastic cable extension though. I think the zip ties is the best solution. What 5370h55v did looks like it will have the least chance of the zip tie bundle getting loose. I was also thinking maybe I should just zip tie the cable to itself so that it runs up from ipod, down the length of itself, then up to the headphone. This would mean i have a relatively thick cable and cant put the bundle in the pocket, plus i'll have a little nub on each end where it might possibly catch on my clothing, but it also wont be a large bundle that gets caught on other things, at least.

This is what I do to shorten some of my cables.
I know some people hate this method but I haven't had a problem. For some of my other cables, I use velcro straps. They're reusable and softer than zip ties.
