Help finding DAC+amp for dt880/600 - budget: $300. Impossible?

Is there an "all in one" box that will do ok with the dt880/600 ohm? I've read about quite a few of the ones in this price class and it seems like none of them are capable of driving the dt880/600 well enough..

Would the Bottlehead Crack kit at $220 and an $80-$100 DAC be ok? Or should I just look for a less demanding headphone?

That is a good plan. The 880s love the Crack. A FiiO E10 for $80 would keep to the budget.

I don´t know where you from mate, but i just bought the firestone Fubar IV dac/amp from firestones homepage (think its located in germany) for smallish 200 euro´s, that could be an option if you are in the EU, don´t know about the US prices, but i know it can transfer those beyer 600 ohms into something else atsmile.gif

Yes, I'm in the EU, but I'm going to the US on christmas, and I can bring home roughly $600 worth of stuff without paying taxes.

I've already ordered the Beyers (for $250) but it seems like it's pointless to get anything else in the US since most of the stuff is shipped directly from china.. And I don't think I can get the Bottlehead Crack kit before new years frown.gif

I'll check out the fubar.
