Would the Schiit Bitfrost be an upgrade over the Ti HD?  If so, how would this be connected to the Ti HD? and is there a difference with regards to different cables?

Schiit bitfrost is a nice external DAC, but you can't plug your headphones directly into it.

Plug the E9 line input to the RCA output on the Titanium HD, Your headphones to headphone output on the E9, speakers connected to the (Pre) line out on the E9, done.

I have an amp to connect the bitfrost to.

So, is the Bitfrost an upgrade from the Ti HD's sound?

Would the Bitfrost DAC be better then the Titanium HD's DAC, I'm sure the Bitfrost is better.

For the price, it better be. Wish I could say for myself...

Of course, it has none of the Titanium HD's DSP features (EAX, CMSS-3D Headphone, and so forth), so make sure you keep the card as an S/PDIF output unless you're really sure you don't need said DSP features, ASIO and bit-matched playback in Audio Creation Mode, and so forth.
