Wanting "Traveling" headphones, but I don't want an amp!?

Okay so I've used plenty of headphones, ranging from Beats pro as a kid, to AKG's to my current cans, Beyers DT990s.  Nearly all using amps like my D10 cobra or my pioneer home system. HERE IS THE SITUATION.

I want over hear headphones, i don't want to clutter my travel bag with an amp, I am not horribly skeptic on sound quality (I'm using my phone 4S), and I want something that looks good.  I travel for business a lot and having something good that travels well is important.  my budget is anything below the $500 mark.

Thank you in advance for your advice its much appreciated.

I like to travel with the Sony MDR-7509HD.  I don't know if the sound signature would suit you - it's a neutral studio can.  I love that sort of thing, but not everyone does.

However, they're around $200, durable, fold up for easy transport, have a decent amount of isolation, and run fine out of my iPhone 4.  Give them some thought.

ESW9A comes to mind. Looks good, really comfortable and a nice mid-centered sound. It doesn't offer the best that portable sound  has to offer but I really enjoyed it. It is a "sweater" of a headphone -warm, comfortable, and reminds you of home- w/ top notch looks. Very classy. I'd at least try it out!

I hear the Senn HD-25 1-II is pretty good for traveling, great isolation, good look, good sound.

Try the GMP 8.35...

Perhaps the AKG K81DJ / K181DJ series might satisfy.....

The are all great suggestions! Thanks!  It's tough not being able to really listen to them in person before buying :/

I've looked into the AKG line but i hear they are really neutral, I'm not a guy that wants flat balanced perfect sound, Id like a good soundstage with powerful and clear audio.  Has anyone heard any Bang&Olifson stereo? blew my mind and I always wanted that in a headphone without needing an amp.

My "go to" travel headphone.

Excellent sound, relatively small, very solidly made.

Classic good looks too IMO, but of course that's very subjective.

About $200.
