No price limit.. Best portable set up for customs ?

Hi All

Just wondering what would be a good pairing for the em3pros?

I've got the S9 and the Iphone 4, but not sure that would sound the best with custom iems?, and thinking also to get a amp/dac combination, something like the pico slim

Along those lines, is there a portable source combo that would work for ALL CUSTOM IEMS?

As I've also got a JH16 on the way ;p

Cheers

James

Cypher Labs Algorhythm Solo or Fostex HP-P1 would be a good place to start looking.

James, was actually curious about the same thing...

I always thought the sound from em3pro is on the warm side. That said, would it be better to pair it with the HM-801 or CLAS/HP-P1?

Correct me if I'm wrong but from reading the threads, seems HM-801 is on the warm side and the CLAS/HP-P1 is more neutral/detailed?

On another note, if you decide not to go the iphone route, what would be a good option (say as an all-rounder if you listen to a wide variety of genres) ??

Cheers

yes the 801 is quite warm and dark, but not as much so as the 601. the clas/hpp1 is much more neutral, and to my ears a bit more detailed.

there are many other daps available like the colorfly player, which u may want to look into and perhaps the upcoming ibasso dx100, sounds very interesting^^

Thanks for that! Heard about the ibasso dap but didn't know it is called the dx100
It looks like an awesome brick!
Gonna have to keep an eye on that one.
And maybe the t59 as well...
