A very all-round headphone for me. Just the right one to take on the go or on holiday. Also as a DJ, nice noice isolation. Very durable so you don't have to wonder if it will break if you throw...
This quick review is done after a few hours of listening. I bought them from B&H for the decent sum of 150$. If you've done your research you'll find out that Ultrasone HPs are known for their...
I auditioned the SRH-1840 straight out of the box, and was unsatisfied with the sound, so I decided to give them a period of break-in. Recent scientific studies have shown definite differences...
I didn't think of TEAC when I began searching for a dedicated CD player. My initial short list included Denon, Cambridge, Marantz, Onkyo. The Teac intrigued me, so I went for it. It is very...
To be clear I want an all in one DAC/amp. NOT two seperate devices. I do not have a problem with buying used. So far I have been looking at the Yulong D100 and some audiogd models.
Great, I like it better when I get suggestions from people who actually have the hardware they are suggesting. Thanks again, I will almost definitely be purchasing this setup as soon as I can!
Okay, I haven't posted here in years but I have been browsing since I just made my first headphone purchase in quite a while.
I have 650s and a Benchmark Dac1, first generation, bought in 2003ish. I couldn't be happier. It looks like you can score a Dac1 close to your budget, used but it would be first gen and no USB which may be a deal breaker.

Is the Dac1 a DAC/amp? Otherwise I would be spending too much on a DAC alone. I need to keep it under $450 for the dac and amp.
The Dac1 is a Dac + preamp + dual output (not balanced, two individual outputs) headphone amp. The headphone amp section was voiced for the 650. If you can track down the Stereophile review of the Dac1 I believe Atkinson performed it and mentioned listening to it specifically with the 650.
