Have DT990 Pro, want more bass, most music is in computer and i game alot so bass is just required in loads to have some uber fun :D, what should i do?

1. Get a sound card? will the essence stx give it that bass i so much want?

2. Get the e7/e9 combo? how does it affect bass? would i still need a sound card?

3. A cheaper soundcard but with the Zo2. quality? which cheap sound card can drive it? 250ohms.

The FiiO E10 usb dac/amp works well (rated for up to 300-Ohms) and has a "bass boost".  Works nicely for computers.  Amazon has em for about $80.00 U.S.

4. Get headphones that atually suit your needs instead of trying to change the sig of the ones you already have,

This is your best choice. An amp won't completely change the sound of a headphone. I recommend the Pro 900s if you can afford them. If not, the audio-technica Pro700 Mk2s.

As everyone just implied above, just get the Pro 900. rolleyes.gif

Arent the Pro 900s 150 dollars more for LESS gaming performance? Aren't their mids also recessed? I won't have a job until march when im 18, so yeah....plus they are open so they would make a good partner for IEM's with the most bass ever ^^ (TFTA's XB1)

My needs are computer music AND GAMING  so yeah, I already have bassy IEM's and the dt990 prolly sound better than the ultrasone 900s since they are semi open and arent reccesed like the ultrasone's are. plus it would be like friggin 400 OR MORE total cash to get them plus amp/dac...i dont have a job >_<

On the other hand, most people say the 990dt have great bass and are one of teh bassiest semi open phones there are, so that, with a decent amp im guessing will achieve a great combination...

So it acts liek a sound card or do i still need to get one? and does it do the dac/amp function at the same time? i mean like make the computer audio better while amping the headphones? which is what the e7/e9 would do.

Get a M^3 with a variable bass boost control.  An equalizer might work for you, too.

I don't see why the Pro 900s would require a new amp/dac. We don't know how much money you have to spend, either. No need to be so obnoxious.

Maybe you should just use an equalizer program. That would fix things real quick. Here, this one's just $20:

I read this: "The E11 doesn’t come with a DAC and so I’ll compare the amplifier section of both units. The set up is as follows: Macbook Air > Fiio E10 > Fiio E11 using a Fiio mini-mini cable from the E10′s analog out to the E11′s input. Clearly there is a loss of transparency and clarity, as the signal has to go through longer paths. The bass however is more punchy and slightly less loose than if I’m using the E10′s internal amp. For Electronic, Trance, Dubstep where bass is important I would probably choose the E10+E11"

So...I should prolly use e10/e11?
