With dual high and dual super-high frequency drivers, there's just no way this is an acceptable representation of the 8.A sound. Either yours are defective, or this chart is wrong (and I'm leaning towards the latter being the best explanation).
I guess i will be sending the 8.As back after a listening to em for a couple of minutes.
Firstly, the 8.As are giving me a fatiguing listening experience within a minute or so. The highs are pretty messed up and i am experiencing sibilance and is nowhere closed to the 'smooth' treble experience that is mentioned in many of the reviews out there. Instrument seperation is a hit and miss and i know it could be better.
Well the good news is despite receiving a partially defective unit, i could already see the potential in the 8.A particularly in the bass and vocal region. It strives to achieve musicality and perfect accuracy at the same time.
The lows are fantastic (it goes deep and hard hitting) and the mids are a worthy competitor to my ES5s. I tested with pure vocal tracks and i dont face this problem. I have emailed John regarding this and will be expecting a response from him soon. Wow dang i am probably the first 8.A user with such problem here :(
