It's been awhile since I was last around here...I was fairly active from about 2005 to 2008 and got a chance to listen to some really fantastic gear during that time. Since then, I've wound up listening far more to speaker systems than cans, so only have a few pieces of headphone gear left.
One of them is a modded Sugden Headmaster that used to sound fantastic with my AT woodies. I recently bought a house and moved...unfortunately the headphone amp was damaged somewhere along the line. Not quite sure what's wrong with it, but I'm hearing partial frequency dropouts in one channel. l can see that one of the Musicaps is no longer connected to the board, but I don't know whether that's the only problem. In any case, I'm looking for someone who knows what they're doing to troubleshoot and fix it. As far as I know, I don't think it's gonna be too difficult a job, maybe a bit of soldering and some cleaning? I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who has the time and the interest in doing this, please let me know what kind of compensation you'd be looking for. It goes without saying of course that no one can properly estimate time and effort w/o first seeing the job, but hopefully you can give me a rough idea of what my costs might be.
This particular unit was modded by Carlo...dunno if anyone remembers him from back in the day, but his mods took the Headmasters to a different level. I'm fairly sure mine was the very first one modded by him...it was originally owned by an old school headfier named smokey. It's a headfi classic, so here's your chance to spend some time working on and listening to something cool, while also getting paid for it!
[Mods -- Please move this if it's inappropriate for this forum. I didn't know whether the FS boards would be the right place or if it'd be better here so that the right people read it.]
Thanks, Dennison
