Concerned owner of Beyerdynamic dt770 Pro 80's... Opinions wanted!

Greetings all!

I've recently discovered a rattling in the right housing on my beloved beyerdynamic dt770 pro 80's.

Now I understand (i think) that there could be two issues:
- faulty driver

- hair in/around driver

 

I've had these headphones for about 6 months (purchased new from ebay), and have not heard any issues until now.

Strange fact is, that if I press the right earcup closer to my ears, the rattling becomes less noticeable, but is still barely there.

My ultimate question is:

- should I attempt to pry off the housing and inspect the driver to remove hair ( carefully, of course)

 

OR

 

- should I just contact Beyerdynamic, and see what happens.

 

Opinions wanted and appreciated!

Solution Found!

 

As I know most the veterans around here know, hair is (HOPEFULLY) the culprit to rattling.

I went ahead and mustered up the courage to open my Pro's up and found the rattling to be from a loose hair in the driver.

So, for what its worth, anyone with the Beyers, please keep a handle on any/all hair that may accumulate!

Hope this helps anyone else that has a rattling issue...
