I don't think so. UI upgrade will be in terms of firmware that end users can do it themselves. No reason to hold lee730's DX100 back for weeks just to 'upgrade' the UI.

Maybe all their prototypes are not actually how the first 40 were made, thus using it for testing modifications against batch 2. I'm sure lee730's DX100 is in good hands though, If their actually are hardware updates then that should hopefully make lee730 and everyone else very happy.

Okay that works for me and since I'm in the 2nd batch of buyers I'll assume the upgrade will include all future units. Maybe the extra $$$ that we are paying will have value...sorry early buyers. biggrin.gif

Probably not EVERYONE...

Maybe everyone - 39.

I'd be surprised if they are making hardware changes, unless it's to allow it to act as a stand alone DAC, and allow us to use normal SDHC cards, and add an optional use built in O2 amp - based on user feedback of course.

My personal theory is that they accidentally sent Scooter their prototype (with their party tunes on it to boot), so they were delighted when Lee sent his back so they one again had one they could copy. Now they can't give him his back until they know the new batch works and they can keep one to make the third batch from.

Based on seeing inside other devices, I doubt they would be able to fit a normal SDHC card in the DX100. Wouldn't make much sense to make their device even larger.

Ya, tongue was planted firmly in cheek on that one.

Except the part about the built in O2 amp.

It wouldn't surprise me if the amp was similar to the O2.  Both have a nice clean sound.

Just got my payment request and paid for mine from the second batch so I guess they are starting to complete them.

So nobody really answered if Poweramp downsamples 24/96 or 24/88 to 16/44

PowerAmp uses the stock Android audio framework which will downsample your stuff to 16/44.1, much like most desktop operating systems do unless you circumvent that layer of the OS with tools like BitPerfect/Asio4All/Alsa output etc. Which is basically what Ibasso have done for the DX100 smile.gif

This Android version only support 16/44.1, so any player will only play 16/44.1 or down sample it to it. We have to wait for ICS , then it will be a different story..

Judging by how much lag there is on my DX100 with Gingerbread, I seriously doubt the DX100 has what it takes to make an upgrade to ICS worthwhile, horsepower-wise...
