I have this card, and I am very happy with it. No noise/hissing as the Xonar USB I had before.
But wanted to ask about the volume. There is literally no silent setting.
When I go from 0-1/2 there is a big jump from silent and sound.
When I have the card on 1 or 2 percent its more like 25 percent. Other steps are nice and gradually no other jumps noticed.
Just that the 1-2 percent of sound is where I normally listen to music/movies its not as much silent I would like to have it.
I have not the smart volume setting used.
I know I can use the volume settings of programs to make it more silent. But to use 2 volume controls is pain in the ass.
Anyone knows if this is how this actually should work?
Also sorry for the silly question. But I should have the sound setting on max in programs and use the volume rocker/master volume for best sound? Or whats the best setting for less distortion etc. As I have no idea how this works.
My thinking is to have the input from he programs on max (music/movie players) and then the volume on the card used. Or this has no effect?
