shure srh840 upgrade cable - recable

hello peoples i have a pair of srh840's but my cable died i know there is a uncoiled replacement cable out there but i am wondering if anyone out there knows of anyone anywhere that can make an upgraded cable. the big think i am wondering about the whole thing is is it possible to splice the original cable with a better cable like mogami starquad or something better. thanks for your help peoples

I did a tiny bit of searching when I bought my straight cable but I didn't find any cable upgrades.  I'm sure you could splice a cable but I'm not sure exactly where that would take you in terms of any improvements in sq.  I personally suck at diy so I just bought a new cable for the $20 or whatever it was; simple that way.

right on that will probably be the thing to do except i am definitely going to change the plug to a neutrik and if anyone else has ideas i am all ears
