I have the SM3 V1 and they came with a large and small set of double flange tips. The large one fit perfectly. I wanted to get a few extra pairs, and only 1 universal size is now available, does anyone know if it is the same as the old large?

Bought these on whim, for your basic train ride to work I don't mind. But its far from being the best I have own.

First, I should note that I auditioned these both straight out of the box, without any break-in time and then later after 53 hours of break-in. Recent scientific studies have shown definite...

A very all-round headphone for me. Just the right one to take on the go or on holiday. Also as a DJ, nice noice isolation. Very durable so you don't have to wonder if it will break if you throw...

This quick review is done after a few hours of listening. I bought them from B&H for the decent sum of 150$. If you've done your research you'll find out that Ultrasone HPs are known for their...

I auditioned the SRH-1840 straight out of the box, and was unsatisfied with the sound, so I decided to give them a period of break-in. Recent scientific studies have shown definite differences...

No longer have the old one to compare, you could always buy triple flanges and cut them down as needed

Definitely an option, but I don't know if the base of the triple would match the size of the old large double.

If it's of any help, I use the double flanges (new) in my V2's (mostly because I'm scared of breaking them with olives like I did last time) and I typically use med-large tips. There's always the Comply solution and the sensaphonics. Once I dremmel a couple of olives I'll be using those . Need the isolation.

Thanks. I didn't have internet at home for a week, so it's taken a while to respond. Sounds like the new double flanges might work if comparable to a med-large, if not I'll got the the sensaphonics.

I received the replacement universal tips from Earsonics yesterday and they are identical to the old ones, except the stem is 1-2 mm longer for a deeper fit I assume. Snipped them down to the size of the old ones and they work great.
EDIT: Just wanted to mention that the bore of the hole is a bit larger on the replacements vs. the originals, so not "identical", but that difference is mentioned on the earsonics page.

congrats ! Glad they work for you. I noticed the V2's being out of the ear canal a bit more than I remember the V1's being (which is a good thing for my fit). Not quite Shure 530 territory, but out there. That's good because it means I can use olives if I need to or short comply. Surprised they changed the eartips but they work for me. I'm pretty happy with the double flange silicone though, and I usually hate silicone.
