Why must I say this again?  I'm not looking for open back headphones.  Please, read the OP if you're going to comment.  It's just common courtesy.

CALs (Creative Aurvana Live) are closed and easy to power.

Prices range through out the year between $70-$90.

I was referring to the person who suggested two pairs of open-back headphones.  I've already taken your suggestions into consideration and intend on trying them out.  Thank you :)

I'll third the HD 25-1 II recommendation. Their up-front sound and energy will fare well with your music and it will be a drastic change from the 555. The CAL's on the other hand are very warm sounding headphones and don't sound as good with guitars. But, hey, check'em out regardless. I absolutely loved mine for games when I had them.

As far as comfort goes, I only got to wear the HD-25s for about an hour, so I can't say much. The clamping is definitely there, but my problem was with my ears getting hot with the pleather pads. It shouldn't be as big of a deal with velour.

edit:

Here are some reviews you might want to check out as well:

Any other suggestions that are relative to my requests?  I'd like to give some more headphones a test before I buy.

I was going to suggest the 598's but I see you want closed headphones. Id highly recommend the Shure SRH840's the only thing hindering portability is the long thick coiled cord but its replaceable, but I'm not sure if Shure makes a strait one, and the exposed wire to each ear cup (sig-pic) is a little weird but I haven't had problems with it.

P.S. Where are you able to try all these out before buying them?

I've been going around to a few different places.  Some local music stores, Guitar Center, and there's a Best Buy that has a section with some high end headphones.  Thanks for the recommendation.  The only issue I can see from pictures is that they look extremely uncomfortable - I'll have to give 'em a shot though.  Thanks.

Edit: I looked around for multiple reviews - I'll give them a shot.  They seem like really solid sounding headphones.  The biggest con is most people said they weren't the most comfortable/convenient things so that might be a deal breaker.

I think there comfortable, my only 2 complaints would be the exposed cords (that I said before) and that the top of the head band and the coiled cord is heavy making them fall of easy but as comfort goes they don't hurt at all I actually enjoy them and if you could get a strait cold that would be great for portability.
