Just ordered Little Dot 1+

for my christmas present :). So excited, been waiting to hear this tube amp forever now! Anyone want to suggest any op amps or other tubes I should check out, or maybe a place I could order these respected devices off of? I updated my original tubes to the EF92's. Can't wait. Now I just need a DAC, maybe update my grado's to a better modded pair, but besides that I'm pretty content

I am currently enjoying a matched pair of Voskhod 6Zh1P-EV (Восход 6Ж1П-ЕB) [EF95] tubes like a fine Russian vodka

with a "twist" of LME49720HA as detailed in my toast here.

But, don't take my word for it.  Have fun and "mix" your own.

За ваше здоровье!

What would suggestably be the best for heavy metal/rock music. Is there really that large of a discernable notice? What is the advantage for having a DAC for this setup as well? Thanks everyone for there suggestion! Really cannot wait for this set up, also am getting a nice 1 TB portable Iemogo hard drive as well. Santy Clause lent me a few bucks for some presents.

Just wanted to chime in.. Upgrading your grados >getting a DAC

OPA2107 is a great opamp, you will hear more of a difference then many tubes out there. Best about this opamp is bigger soundstage, deep bass and more body to your music. It just sounds amazing. As for tubes, Mullard EF91, EF92 are good. I personally use the Mullard M8083 which are quality tubes and definitely matches the opa2107 opamp.

I would be really interested to see if you could pick out the op amps when blind folded. I've yet to hear an opamp change upgrade the sound much on anything. Not unless the opamp was being used incorrectly. Which is more likely to happen by swapping out op amps from stock ones. I'm not saying it didn't make a change, just that I'm skeptical of such claims.

I'm curious, which opamp comes with the little dot?

yeah i hear you, i was skeptical at the beginning too. How can a 2-3 dollar opamp be much of an upgrade, but honestly it was.. I think the best thing about the little dot is being able to find the synergy between the opamp and tubes, which was the case for me. In the end the setup sounded extremely pleasing for me.

Grab a friend, see if you can tell the difference when you don't know which opamp is installed. Do it for science.

The new rave is the LME49990MA

Have a pair pre-mounted on an adapter here:

or build your own
