Bought these on whim, for your basic train ride to work I don't mind. But its far from being the best I have own.

First, I should note that I auditioned these both straight out of the box, without any break-in time and then later after 53 hours of break-in. Recent scientific studies have shown definite...

A very all-round headphone for me. Just the right one to take on the go or on holiday. Also as a DJ, nice noice isolation. Very durable so you don't have to wonder if it will break if you throw...

This quick review is done after a few hours of listening. I bought them from B&H for the decent sum of 150$. If you've done your research you'll find out that Ultrasone HPs are known for their...

I auditioned the SRH-1840 straight out of the box, and was unsatisfied with the sound, so I decided to give them a period of break-in. Recent scientific studies have shown definite differences...

I picked up the Koss Pro-4AA earlier this year and it definitely sounds like a different model from the one i used to listen to as a child and teenager in the 1970s and 80s. It doesnt have that warm bassy without the thump detailed sound i remember the earlier version having.
It is still an amazing headphone. The treble on it is the most buetiful i have heard with a extremely detailed smooth as a whisper in a cold room clarity to it. So the reviewer is correct that it is very useful for vocal applications.
If i want a more bassy sound i just turn up the bass on my Onkyo TX-8555 stereo reciever. Still the bass is nowhere like the original but it is there.
The Koss Pro-4AA also need quite a bit of burn in before they start to really open up aswell as plenty of power to sound good. No way they will sound decent off a portable device like an Ipod.
They're one of my favorites since i love treble and i use them for music and playing games. With games i was quite startled how i could actually feel myself turning in the game as the sounds would shift effortlessly as my ingame character turned to face the other side of the street in CRYSIS 2 or some forest in OBLIVION.
So yes these do seem like they're not the original version but they do stunning things i have not seen other headphones do to the same degree. Oh they are also heavy but since i use to lift weights deadlifting 350 pounds and squatting 372 i think i can manage the Koss Pro-4AA quite well :D

Thanks these do look pretty sexy. Glad to hear that they're still worth the coin. I don't normally like to EQ the equipment I use, but I may make an exception if I get these. Thanks again for restoring confidence!
