DIY/Modding, is it possible for these?

Hello, I'm a huge noob when it comes to these things and I would like to ask for some advise. Pardon me for the long post.

I want to buy a certain vintage headphone but I was wondering if I can mod it up? I recently fell in love with those Pioneer SE-L40. I like it for the looks and I wouldn't be anal about the sound. Will it be possible to replace certain parts of it in the future if it ever breaks down? I mean it's an old headphone so I doubt it will be rock solid. I also want to know the sound quality of these.

I would like to mod it up with components of a grado sr-60i and recable it in the future and I was wondering if it is possible.

BTW I listen to Rap, Hip-hop, Kpop, R&B, would there be better headphone parts that I can put in these instead of Grado sr-60i parts to improve listening experience?

Thank you

recable is certainly possible.

I'm sure some  modding is doable - but finding true replacement parts will be difficult. Much depends on how handy you are, and are willing to build things from scratch.

I love the look of them too. Curious to know how they sound.

To be honest, I'd rather pay than trouble myself with fixing them. If i tinker with it I might end up causing more damage.

I would like to know the consensus of the forum about trying to fit in Grado components in these. Grados are cabled on both sides correct me if I am wrong so that would entail me drilling a hole on these....

Mixing parts from different headphones is something of a crap-shoot.

I'd keep the vintage headphones stock and park them on a shelf. They will be nice to look at while you listen to a modern set, and great for an occasional throw-back to how things used to sound.
