Sony MDR-XB500 and others being discontinued?

I recently re-checked Amazon and a few other stores' MDR-XB500 stock, and I was surprised to see them out of stock for several days. The XB300 and XB700 (which I have and adore) still appear to be in stock. Since I haven't been able to dig up prior Sony headphone timelines, does anyone know more info if the MDR-XB series may be discontinued?

 

I was very disappointed when Sony discontinued the MDR-V900 and replaced it with the MDR-V900HD, which is a misleading name because it looks similar, but sounds very different — much worse to my ears.

Stores occasionally run low on stock, it happens.  I would be fairly surprised if they discontinued them, given that their popularity seems to catching on fire.
