So I recently bought some Klipsch Image Ones for my friends ($30 each and an introduction to higher-end headphones? Great deal). I didn't get around to trying them out until today. Oh my goodness, the bass gave me a headache. I've never heard a headphone with that much. Normally I use DT770s, which are supposed to be pretty bassy, and according to this frequency response graph, they are. I just don't think they're only a few dB below the Klipsch. Am I reading it wrong or is it because one is a portable headphone and the other is a fullsize?

You also have to factor in the bass level in relation to the mids/treble. You will generally increase the volume so that the mids/treble are at an acceptable level, and the bass increases in relation.

Well, I always keep it at the lowest setting on my laptop (I have an Asus G73... the internal amp is abnormally strong..) but according to the graph the Image Ones only have a lower response for a small section of the the mids and the highs.
