Hello.

I'm new here and I won't front that I am knowledgeable and all but I ask of you lot to help me identify these headphones. I've already spent hours trying to know what they are but to no avail. Thank you.

Heya,

Those are... sexy. Leather banding. Velour padded. I like.

Must know.

Very best, basshead.gif

My closest guess is Pioneer SE-L40.

But the color of the banding seems off. The details on the earpiece seems close. Can anyone refute or confirm?

After looking at images of this headphone, I must say, you're probably 99% correct, sir!

Video review I found.

Two pairs on ebay ranging around $40~45. From the 1970's. Open back, lack bass, similar to a Grado.

Very best,

HyunA. She is popular South Korean singer.

So are we quite certain that those are a pair of SE-L40s?

in Korea, singers don't get paid to wear Beats around?

Some in the K-Pop side of things. Mostly cause of Dr. Dre's influence over there. I know one of the girls in 2NE1 has worn em in a LOT of their videos.

Yesterday, Dre and Snoop made a fool of themselves whoring their product (Beats) at MAMA. LOL

Not everyone I guess wants to buy those $200++ headphones.

They are Pioneer SE-L40 which are in demand for there looks, but not there sound. The sound is not good as ive heard, though the design is outstanding. They go for $80-140 on ebay, and people buy Grado drivers to make them sound better.

Those are definitely SE-L40s.

Price is really anyone's guess; I've seen some go for as low as $40 and others as high as $320 on ebay.  Norm is ~$150-200
