Very quick question, bi-wiring!

Someone chime in quickly please as I;m waiting for a response to try out my new speakers. My first stereo system ever so I'm a bit new to the whole thing.

My speakers are Polk Audio Monitor 30s and they have 4 connections instead of the standard 2 (Left/right). There is 2 sets of Left/Right and as I understand it, it is for bi-wiring. I get the connections. The 2 sets of left and right both go to the same Left/Right connection on my receiver but I'm wondering if there's anything I need to know regarding compatibility with my receiver.

Can you bi-wire with any receiver/amp? I have a Denon AVR-2800 which is a bit older and not sure if I bi-wire it, it'll blow something up or damage some electrical circuits. Just want to err on the side of caution.

Let me know if it's alright to bi-wire with my receiver if anyone has an answer! Thanks..

Correct.

The difference between a standard single wire connection and bi-wired is not much. The only difference between the two is that the bi-wired method has more copper connecting the amp to the speaker. The same thing can be accomplished by using heavier gauge wire or using two wires without removing the straps on the speaker binding posts.

Thanks guys. I made the bi-wiring connections and it works perfectly. Much appreciated.
